New EMBO members announced

MRC-supported researchers are among the 62 outstanding life scientists named in the European Molecular Biology Organisation’s (EMBO) list of new members.
EMBO elects new members annually in recognition of their contributions to scientific excellence. The organisation promotes excellence in the life sciences by supporting talented researchers, stimulating exchange of scientific information and helping to shape science and research policy.
The new EMBO members will be formally welcomed at the Members’ Meeting in Heidelberg between 24 and 26 October.
The newly elected MRC-supported scientists include:
- Professor Petra Hajkova, Head of the Reprogramming and Chromatin group, MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences
- Professor Ewa Paluch, Group Leader, MRC Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology at UCL
- Dr Lori Passmore, Head of the Mechanisms of Macromolecular Machines group, MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology
- Dr Felix Randow, Head of the Cell Autonomous Innate Immunity group, MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology.
