Dr Zam Cader is a clinician scientist at the MRC Functional Genomics Unit, Oxford. Zam has found the first gene to be directly linked with a typical form of migraine, which points the way to effective new treatments for the condition.

Dr Rebecca Fitzgerald

Dr Rebecca Fitzgerald (clinician scientist) is the Group leader at the MRC Cancer Cell Unit, Cambridge. Rebecca has invented a simple test for early oesophageal cancer, which could help doctors to intervene before incurable cancer develops.

Professor Vincenzo (Enzo) Cerundolo

Professor Enzo Cerundolo is the Group leader of the tumour immunology programme and associate director of the MRC Human Immunology Unit, Oxford. He studies the immune response to cancer and how vaccines can be used to fight the disease.
